Recycling

With its eye on the environment, CamLight Systems has joined a national program called Charge Up to Recycle!® to conveniently recycle their used rechargeable batteries.

CamLight Systems and other businesses nationwide are working in cooperation with the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Cooperation (RBRC), a nonprofit public service organization that operates the Charge Up to Recycle!® program. By participating in the RBRC Program, CamLight Systems is helping to conserve the earth's natural resources and to prevent rechargeable batteries from entering the country's landfills.

We at CamLight Systems feel strongly that all users of rechargeable batteries should recycle them once they are no longer useful. Using our 2-Stage Pack Dischargers and Auto-Cutoff Modules can significantly increase the life of your battery packs, but after years of use and abuse eventually the cells in your packs will fail.

The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) is a non-profit public service organization dedicated to recycling Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion (Li-ion), and Sealed Lead-Acid (SLA) rechargeable batteries. Since 1994, they have recycled over 20 million pounds of rechargeable batteries.

You can recycle your rechargeable batteries by visiting one of the 30,000+ retail stores and community solid waste centers participating in RBRC’s recycling program. To find the collection site nearest you, click the graphic below and follow the link to the list of Drop Off Sites.

Packing Guidelines

Before dropping off your batteries or battery packs for recycling, please pack them using the following guidelines:
  • Completely discharge the Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), Lithium Ion (Li-Ion), and Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) rechargeable batteries or battery pack.
  • RBRC collection sites will only accept batteries or battery packs weighing up to 2 pounds. If you have a large NiCd or NiMH battery pack, please break it up into less than 2 pound chunks.
  • If you have a car or motorcycle battery or a Sealed Lead-Acid battery that weighs more than 2 pounds, you cannot drop it off at a RBRC battery collection site. Contact a local automotive repair facility or garage for disposal of these heavier batteries.
  • Prevent contact between terminals or other metal surfaces during storage and transport:
    • Place each battery in a plastic bag, or...
    • Place nonconductive electrical tape over the terminals.
  • Click the RBRC graphic above and follow the link to the list of Drop Off Sites to find the one nearest you.
Call2RecycleTM cell phone recycling is now also available through communities and public agencies nationwide. See the RBRC web site or the Call2RecycleTM web site for more information.

Thank you for recycling your batteries and battery packs!
